Anhydrous magnesium chloride appears as white glossy hexagonal crystals with a melting point of 714°C and boiling point of 1412°C. It has strong deliquescent properties, surpassing both magnesium chloride hexahydrate and dihydrate forms. Its physical and chemical properties are fundamentally similar to magnesium chloride hexahydrate.
