DCL compact electric actuators are widely used in HVAC applications, particularly with butterfly valves. In building automation systems, these actuators play a critical role in regulating indoor temperature, air-handling unit airflow, chilled and hot water flow, condensate drainage, and overall hydraulic balancing.

The DCL H-type control circuit combined with a three-phase AC motor is specifically designed for actuators powered by 380 VAC or 440 VAC at 50/60 Hz—power supplies commonly found in heavy-duty industrial environments such as power plants and steel mills. Similar to single-phase actuators, when a continuous voltage control signal is applied, the motor drives a rugged, all-metal gear train that rotates the output shaft through 90°. Travel is precisely controlled by internal cams that actuate limit switches, automatically stopping the motor and providing a dry-contact signal at the fully open position. When a reverse continuous signal is received, the motor runs in the opposite direction, returning the actuator to the closed position.

The actuator is easy to install and fully compliant with ISO 5211 multi-flange mounting standards, featuring a double-square output drive for reliable valve coupling.
