Why is VSA used for oxygen production in the pharmaceutical industry? What are its core advantages?
In the field of medicine, especially in hospitals, the requirements for oxygen are extremely strict: it must be continuously stable, pure and safe, and have sufficient supply. Compared with traditional oxygen supply methods (such as cylinder oxygen, liquid oxygen) and other oxygen production technologies, VSA oxygen production has the following significant advantages:

1. Significant economic advantage (cost reduction)
This is the most core and attractive advantage of VSA oxygen production.
Compared with traditional methods, the cost of long-term use of steel cylinder oxygen or purchased liquid oxygen is very high, including gas costs, transportation costs, rent, and management fees. Once the hospital's oxygen consumption increases, this expenditure will be very staggering. VSA oxygen concentrators only require electricity consumption and minimal maintenance costs. Compared with other oxygen production technologies, VSA requires lower working pressure (usually less than 0.5 barg) due to desorption under vacuum conditions, while traditional PSA requires higher pressure (4-8 barg). The lower the pressure, the lower the energy consumption of the air compressor, so VSA is usually more energy-efficient and has lower operating costs than traditional PSA oxygen production.
