Cement Mill

1.Product Introduction

A cement mill is a cylindrical rotating grinding device primarily driven by an external gear transmission. The common configuration is a two-compartment grate ball mill, internally loaded with steel balls of varying sizes as grinding media. It can be used for open-circuit grinding and is also suitable for closed-circuit grinding systems integrated with a classifier.

2.Application

Its applications are extensive, primarily covering the following fields:

• Cement Production: As the core equipment in cement plants, cement mills grind raw materials such as cement clinker, gypsum, and blended materials into fine powder to produce various grades of Portland cement, slag cement, and other cement products.

• Silicate Products: Used in manufacturing silicate building materials like aerated concrete and sand-lime bricks.

• New Building Materials: Performs grinding functions in producing new wall materials such as gypsum board and fiber cement board.

3.Working Principle

The material enters the first compartment of the mill uniformly through the feed device via the hollow feed shaft screw. This compartment is equipped with stepped liners or corrugated liners and steel balls. The rotation of the cylinder generates centrifugal force, lifting the steel balls to a certain height before they fall, impacting and grinding the material. After coarse grinding in the first compartment, the material passes through the partition plate into the second compartment. This compartment is lined with flat liners and contains steel balls for further grinding of the material. Finally, the powdered material is discharged through the discharge grate, completing the grinding process.
