Paint pail tinplate coil is a medium thickness electrolytic tin coated steel designed for paint cans, solvent pails and general chemical containers. The material balances stiffness and formability so that large pails can be drawn, beaded and seamed without thinning or fracture.

A heavier tin coating is available for aggressive paint and solvent formulations, giving the bare steel sacrificial protection at any scratch or cut edge.

• High Stiffness Body: A 0.25 mm gauge with T4 temper gives rigid pail bodies that resist bulging under stacking and shipping loads.
• Chemical Resistance: Optional 8.4/8.4 g/m2 coating protects against solvent and alkyd paint attack on the inner wall.
• Clean Weldable Surface: Uniform tin layer supports strong electric seam welds and reliable slip on lid and handle fixings.
• Good Beading Response: The half hard temper forms clean beads and ribs that add hoop strength to the finished pail.
• Lacquer Friendly: Bright finish accepts interior linings and exterior decorative print with excellent adhesion.
• Consistent Gauge: Tight thickness tolerance reduces tooling adjustment and keeps pail weights within specification.

Paint pail tinplate is used for solvent based paints, water based emulsions, varnishes, thinners and adhesives packed in one to twenty litre pails and drums.

It also suits chemical containers for polishes, lubricants and household chemicals where a robust sealed metal pack with good printability is needed.

Coils are supplied on eye to sky pallets, wrapped with moisture proof paper and VCI anti rust film and strapped with galvanised banding for ocean transport.

In line testing covers thickness, coating weight, hardness and tin adhesion, and mill certificates or third party inspection such as SGS can be arranged.
