High-performance 5-meter active copper cable for NDR InfiniBand and 400G Ethernet—delivering 800Gb/s aggregate bandwidth over twin-port OSFP to 2x OSFP connections with ultra-low latency and 1.5W per end power consumption.
The MCA4J80-N005 is based on OSFP MSA Rev. 1.12 and uses 8 channels of 100G-PAM4 modulation. It incorporates an active equalizer IC at each end to pre-emphasize signals, enabling longer reach than passive DACs. The EEPROM provides product identification via I²C (SFF-8636). Supports both InfiniBand NDR and 400GbE with auto-protocol detection. Compliant with RoHS, LSZH, and HF (halogen-free) PCB requirements.
Unlike passive DAC cables, the MCA4J80-N005 integrates a low-power equalizer IC inside each OSFP connector. This IC compensates for high-frequency signal loss over longer copper runs. For the 5m model, thicker 26AWG wires are used to reduce resistance, and the equalizer reshapes the 100G-PAM4 eye diagram at both transmitter and receiver ends. The result is a link that behaves electrically like a much shorter cable, achieving 800Gb/s with BER well below specification while dissipating only 1.5W per end.
| Model | Length | AWG | Data Rate | Power per End | Cable Diameter | Min Bend Radius (single) |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| MCA4J80-N005 | 5 m | 26 AWG | 800Gb/s (2x400G) | 1.5 W | 8.9 ±0.3 mm | 44.5 mm (5x dia) |
| MCA4J80-N004 | 4 m | 30 AWG | 800Gb/s (2x400G) | 1.5 W | 7.2 ±0.3 mm | 36.0 mm |
| MCA4J80-N003 | 3 m | 30 AWG | 800Gb/s (2x400G) | 1.5 W | 7.2 ±0.3 mm | 36.0 mm |
Note: Flat-top and flat-to-finned variants available for DGX H100 (MCA4J80-N003-FLT, MCA4J80-N003-FTF). All cables support operating temperature 0°C to +70°C, 3.3V supply, and include I²C serial interface.
We offer 24/7 technical consultation, RMA services, and cabling infrastructure design support. Each MCA4J80-N005 is backed by a 1-year warranty and extensive pre-shipment testing. Custom lengths and labeling available for volume orders. Our inventory ensures same-day dispatch for in-stock items.
A: Yes. The cable auto-detects the protocol; when connected to a Spectrum-4 400G switch, it operates as 2x400GbE breakout. For InfiniBand Quantum-2, it runs as 800Gb/s twin-port NDR.
A: ACC includes an equalizer IC inside the connector to reshape the signal, allowing longer distances (up to 5m) at 800G. Passive DAC has no active components and is limited to about 2-3m at these speeds.
A: No. It is plug-and-play. The EEPROM provides identification, and the host automatically sets up the link according to the protocol.
A: For the 5m model (26AWG), the single bend radius is 44.5 mm (5x diameter). For repeated bending, maintain 89 mm (10x diameter). Avoid sharp bends near the connector (assembly bend radius 10x diameter).
A: Yes. For DGX H100, we recommend the flat-top or flat-to-finned variants (MCA4J80-N003-FLT / -FTF) which are designed for the specific chassis interface. The standard N005 works for switch-to-switch connections.
