I. Main Types & Functions of Side Room

Curtain Wall Cooling Side Room
Core function: Install cooling pads for negative-pressure ventilation. Outdoor air passes through the wet curtain to lower temperature before entering the chicken house.
Advantages: No occupation of inner breeding space; forms buffer air duct to avoid direct cold wind on chickens; fully closable in winter for heat preservation.

Operation & Equipment Side Room
Functions: Power distribution room, control cabinet room, egg collection room, feed storage, disinfection room, generator room.
Location: Outside the gable or middle section of the side wall.
II. Standard Design Parameters (Cooling Side Room)
- Depth (Width): 0.8–1.6 m (commonly 1.0 m)
- Height: 2.4–2.8 m
- Length: Full width of the house (gable type); 1/3 of total house length (side wall type)
- Floor Height Difference: 15–20 cm lower than the inner floor for drainage and water circulation tank.
- Structure: Concrete strip foundation; 100 mm insulated color steel sandwich panel walls and roof; insulated access door.
- Circulation Water Tank: 1–2 m³ stainless steel or concrete tank with water pump and level control.
III. Ventilation & Airflow Design
- Install cooling pads on the outer wall of the side room.
- Install adjustable air inlets and deflectors between side room and chicken house to guide cold air upward.
- Cooling pad area ≥ twice the total exhaust area of exhaust fans.

Suitable for houses ≤80 m long, ≤15,000 chickens.

Double-side Wall Cooling Side Room
Suitable for long houses ≥90 m, multi-tier H-type cages, large-scale farms.
