Initial balancing of LiFePO4 cells is essential before building a battery pack. Even with Grade A cells at the same voltage, manual top balancing ensures accurate capacity testing and optimal performance.
Proper balancing prevents premature BMS triggering and ensures accurate capacity results. For large battery banks or cells with varying internal resistance, manual top balancing is recommended regardless of initial voltage readings.
