This test machine is designed according to the standard of ISO/DIS 7176-32:2021 for wheelchair wheel durability testing, employing touch program control for durability fatigue testing of wheelchair wheels.
To address the need for quality assessment of wheelchair wheels. Wheelchair wheels come in various sizes and designs. Most known wheel assembly designs fail due to impacts, fatigue, and wear from adverse outdoor conditions within 3 months to 2 years of use. The ISO 7176-8 wheelchair durability testing method includes static, impact, and fatigue tests. However, the significant effects of environmental factors (corrosion, dust, dirt, wear from rough surfaces) and the severe impacts caused by traveling and transporting wheelchairs over rocky terrain are not represented. To accurately replicate field failures and predict wheel quality in the laboratory, it is recommended to conduct wheel testing based on outdoor environmental and sediment conditions. A new durability testing standard for wheelchair wheel assemblies has been developed by wheelchair experts based on field evidence.
