ASTM D3786 Geosynthetic Material Burst Strength Tester Geosynthetic Hydraulic Bursting Strength Testing Machine
Introduction
The geosynthetic material burst strength tester is used to measure the burst strength of geotextiles, geotextiles, and geosynthetic composite materials composed of geotextiles and geotextile membranes.
Test principle
The sample is clamped onto the elastic diaphragm, and a liquid pressure is applied beneath the diaphragm to cause the diaphragm and the sample to expand. The volume of the liquid is increased at a constant rate until the sample ruptures. The burst strength and burst height at this point are measured. Without the sample, the burst strength of the expanded diaphragm when it reaches the burst height with the sample present is measured. The difference between these two values is the burst strength of the sample.
Compliant with standards
ASTM D3786-2008, SL/T 235-13-2012, etc.
