Schneider STP300-200 0/100 Loop Thermo Transmitter
Product Overview
Every hydronic control loop inherits the accuracy of the probe that feeds it, which is why the 006920281 is treated as a measurement instrument rather than an accessory. Catalogued by Schneider Electric inside the STP300 (4-20 mA transmitter) range, it carries a stainless-steel stem that is lowered into the water stream through a separate closed pocket, so the sensing element can be swapped during a maintenance window without draining the circuit.
Behind the stem a moulded, sealed transition separates wet metal from the cable, and the factory-fitted gland keeps condensation, dust and wash-down spray away from the conductor. Because the device is passive it draws no meaningful current, needs no firmware update and has no battery to schedule for replacement; the controller's own measuring circuit supplies the excitation and reads the returning value.
Every unit is checked against a traceable temperature reference before packing, and the paperwork that travels with it suits commissioning records, handover dossiers and energy-audit evidence.
Variant Selection
This variant combines the two requirements that most often appear together on cold assets: a bipolar span for sub-zero operation and a 200 mm stem to clear heavy insulation.

Application Scenarios
Large insulated chilled-water mains and cold-storage distribution pipework present both problems at once. The stem has to travel through thick lagging before it reaches fluid, and the fluid itself may drop below zero during pull-down or stand-by. A short probe with a unipolar range would fail on both counts, reporting the temperature of the insulation and then saturating when the circuit chilled hardest.
Because the 4-20 mA loop tolerates long runs, the transmitter can sit on a remote header while the panel reads it far away in the plant room, and the linearised output keeps the sub-zero portion of the scale properly resolved for frost-protection and capacity-control logic.
