Product Description

Hydroxypropyl-β-cyclodextrin (HP-β-CD, HPBCD) is a type of hydroxyalkylated hydrophilic derivative formed by the condensation of β-CD and propylene oxide. It is a white or off-white amorphous or crystalline powder; odorless; highly hygroscopic. This product is highly soluble in water or propylene glycol, easily soluble in methanol or ethanol, and almost insoluble in chloroform or a.cetone.

Hydroxypropyl beta-cyclodextrin is one of the earliest beta-cyclodextrin derivatives used as a pharmaceutical excipient.

It is easily soluble in water and overcomes the disadvantage of low solubility of beta-cyclodextrin. The solubility can reach more than 100g/100ml water at room temperature. The low-substituted HPBCD produced by our company has a beta residue of less than 0.1%, which greatly improves the safety performance of the product. It is currently widely used in the pharmaceutical, plant extraction, food, cosmetics, printing and dyeing, environmental protection and other industries, and can be used as a solubilizer, embedding agent, stabilizer, taste masking agent, etc.
