ECO Y Frame Waterproof Solar Carport System 9-Panel Integrated Drainage Aluminum PV Parking Canopy
ECO Y Frame Waterproof Solar Carport System
The ECO Y Frame Waterproof Carport combines solar energy generation with complete weather protection in a single integrated structure. Accommodating 9 photovoltaic panels, this system features a proprietary integrated aluminum drainage channel with EPDM rubber inter-panel gaskets that create a continuous water-tight surface, keeping vehicles completely dry even during heavy rainfall. The 6005-T5 aluminum alloy frame provides natural corrosion resistance while maintaining structural integrity.
Each inter-panel joint is sealed with UV-resistant EPDM rubber gaskets rated for 25+ years of outdoor exposure without degradation. Water collected across the panel surface is channeled through integrated aluminum gutters to downspouts at each column, with optional underground drainage connections available. This waterproof design makes the carport ideal for regions with high annual rainfall or applications where dry vehicle storage is essential.

Applications
- Residential Carports in Rainy Climates: Ideal for tropical and monsoon regions where keeping vehicles dry is a priority. The waterproof design eliminates the need for separate roofing under the solar panels.
- EV Charging Stations: Protects electric vehicles and charging equipment from rain exposure during charging sessions, enhancing user comfort and equipment longevity.
- Outdoor Storage Areas: Suitable for covered storage of equipment, materials, or vehicles where weather protection is critical alongside solar energy generation.
- Commercial Fleet Parking: Provides all-weather protection for company vehicle fleets while generating on-site renewable energy, reducing both maintenance costs and electricity bills.

Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Is the waterproofing truly leak-proof in heavy rain?
A: The EPDM inter-panel seals are rated IPX4 and tested under simulated rainfall of 120mm/h, equivalent to torrential rain conditions. The integrated gutter system handles water volume from all 9 panels simultaneously without overflow.
Q: How long do the EPDM seals last?
A: EPDM rubber is UV and ozone resistant with a service life exceeding 25 years in outdoor conditions. The seals are mechanically clamped between panel frames rather than adhesively bonded, allowing individual replacement without disassembly of the entire array.
Q: Can existing solar panels be retrofitted with the waterproofing system?
A: The waterproof system requires our specific rail profile with integrated gutter channels. Retrofitting existing installations is possible by replacing the standard rails with our waterproof rail kit, though full compatibility depends on existing column spacing.
Q: Does the waterproofing affect panel cooling or efficiency?
A: The sealed design maintains a minimum 100mm air gap between panels and the waterproof membrane, allowing adequate ventilation for panel cooling. Our thermal imaging tests show less than 2°C temperature difference versus open-frame designs.
Q: What maintenance is required for the drainage system?
A: We recommend semi-annual inspection and cleaning of gutters and downspouts to remove leaves and debris. The EPDM seals require no maintenance. In freezing climates, ensure downspouts are clear before winter to prevent ice dam formation.
