Ferritic Stainless Steel Sheet – Representative Grades (409 / 430 / 444)
Product Overview
Ferritic stainless steel sheet is a low-nickel iron-chromium alloy plate with minimum 10.5% chromium content, featuring natural magnetism and excellent high-temperature oxidation resistance without expensive nickel element addition. Our main supply grades are 409, 430 and 444, designed for light exhaust systems, indoor decoration, and medium chloride corrosive environments respectively.
Product Highlights
- Core ferritic stainless grades: UNS S40900(409), S43000(430), S44400(444), fully compliant with ASTM A240/A480, EN 10088-2, GB/T 3280, JIS G4305 international standards
- Complete dimension range: Thickness 0.5–80mm, width 1000–2500mm (custom up to 3000mm), length 2000–12000mm with free custom cut-to-length service
- Multiple premium surface finishes: No.1 hot rolled pickled, 2B cold rolled, BA bright annealed, No.4 brushed, HL hairline, 8K mirror, customized pickling treatment
- Low-nickel ferritic series, cost-effective alternative to austenitic 304; all sheets are magnetic with stable mechanical performance
- Original mill supply from TISCO & BG, certified ISO9001 full factory inspection reports for every batch
- Stable monthly production capacity, standard lead time 10–30 working days after deposit confirmation
- Strict pre-delivery inspection: Spectral composition test, tensile/hardness mechanical test, flatness & visual dimensional inspection
- Standard export pallet packaging with full waterproof wrapping to avoid rust and scratch during long sea transportation
Material Grade Characteristics
Grade 409 (UNS S40900 / 1.4512)
- Low-chromium titanium-stabilized ferritic stainless steel, Cr content 10.5–11.75%
- Excellent high-temperature oxidation resistance for cyclic exhaust heat environments
- Superior formability, low cost, magnetic property; not suitable for outdoor coastal chloride environments
- Mainly applied to automobile mufflers, catalytic converter shells, industrial exhaust pipes
Grade 430 (UNS S43000 / 1.4016)
- Classic general ferritic stainless steel with 16–18% chromium, no molybdenum addition
- Good atmospheric anti-rust performance for indoor dry environments, bright decorative surface effect
- Outstanding stamping & bending performance, widely used for kitchen appliances, elevator decorative panels
- Cost-saving substitute for 304 indoor decoration projects without heavy chloride exposure
Grade 444 (UNS S44400 / 1.4521)
- Molybdenum-bearing ultra-low carbon ferritic stainless steel
- Greatly improved resistance to pitting, crevice corrosion and tap water chloride erosion compared to 430
- Excellent weldability without obvious intergranular corrosion risk after welding
- Ideal for water heaters, heat exchangers, fresh water treatment and household water equipment

Key Advantages
Low Nickel Cost Advantage
No high nickel element, far more economical than 304 austenitic steel for indoor & high-temperature dry service scenarios.
Excellent High-Temperature Oxidation Resistance
Ferritic chromium matrix maintains stable anti-oxidation performance under continuous high temperature (409 for exhaust systems).
Diverse Decorative Surface Options
2B, BA, No.4, HL, 8K mirror finishes meet kitchen, elevator and architectural decoration aesthetic demands.
Stable Magnetic & Mechanical Performance
Uniform ferritic grain structure, good ductility for stamping, bending and all cold forming processes.
444 Grade Unique Chloride Resistance
Added molybdenum effectively resists tap water & mild brine corrosion for water treatment equipment.
Complete Customization Support
Thickness, width, length, surface finish and secondary processing all available per customer drawings.
