Product Description

FM-200 (HFC-227ea) is a colorless, odorless, non-corrosive, and electrically insulating gas that leaves no residue or pollution after extinguishing. Its Ozone Depletion Potential (ODP) is zero, making it an environmentally friendly extinguishing agent. These properties also make it suitable for special locations where electrical fires are likely to occur.

Using a small glass tube and the contraction principle, the device operates as an automatic fire extinguisher without any manual manipulation.

Working Principle

When a fire occurs, the two types of hanging FM-200 fire suppression systems activate in different ways:

Electromagnetic Hanging Type FM-200 Fire Suppression System
A fire occurs → A smoke/heat detector activates and sends a signal to the control panel → The control panel receives the signal and activates the alarm bell to notify people to quickly escape from the building → The control panel receives both signals from the smoke and heat detectors, then activates the electromagnetic hanging type FM-200 fire suppression system.
Temperature-Based Hanging Type FM-200 Fire Extinguisher
A fire occurs → The temperature climbs rapidly → The temperature exceeds the specified threshold of the temperature-sensing glass bulb → The temperature-sensing glass bulb bursts under high temperature → The FM-200 fire agent is discharged from the cylinder through the nozzle to extinguish the fire.

  2. One protected zone should install at most one temperature-based hanging type FM-200 fire extinguisher. During a fire, temperature differences may prevent multiple units from activating simultaneously, which could result in an insufficient amount of fire agent to extinguish the fire.
