Selection Guide
Please follow the guidelines below or provide us with your specific requirements so that we can offer you the most professional model selection advice.
1. Choose the Clamshell Material
The OD series clamshell pipe cutting and beveling machines consist of a main body ring and a rotating gear ring. The gear ring is made of heat-treated alloy steel, while the main body ring can be selected in either aluminum or steel.
AOD model (Aluminum): Recommended for on-site machining, especially where lifting equipment is not available.
OD model (Steel): Offers higher strength and longer service life, suitable for heavy-duty and long-term applications.
For model OD560 and below, the machine can be split into two halves for manual handling, regardless of whether it is aluminum or steel. For model OD610 and above, if manual handling is required, we recommend the aluminum body.
2. Choose the Drive Type
ODM (Electric): Suitable for more than 80% of applications. Requires 220V-50Hz power supply and is convenient for on-site use.
ODP (Pneumatic): Suitable for sites with explosion-proof requirements. However, performance may be affected if the air supply is far from the site or if air pressure is low.
ODH (Hydraulic): Recommended for model OD830 and above to ensure greater power. Please note, however, that hydraulic stations are costly and inconvenient to transport.
3. Confirm Pipe Wall Thickness
For wall thickness ≤30 mm, use the standard tool slide. For wall thickness >30 mm, use the heavy wall tool slide, as different toolbit sizes are required.
4. Confirm Bevel Angle and Bevel Type
The bevel angle and type are required to select suitable toolbits, such as V-type, J-type, or compound bevels.
5. Confirm Pipe Material and Quantity
Pipe material and quantity are necessary to determine the proper toolbits and the number of toolbits required.
