A: At idle, the operation of the fan clutch depends on engine temperature. During cold idle, the clutch should be disengaged or in low coupling state, with very low fan speed and minimal noise. When the engine reaches normal operating temperature (usually coolant temperature reaches 90-95°C), if the vehicle is stationary and lacks ram air effect, the clutch should engage, increasing fan speed with noticeably louder noise - this is normal. If the air conditioning system is activated, the clutch may engage earlier to assist condenser heat dissipation.

Q: How to judge if the fan clutch is working properly by temperature?
A: Several temperature characteristics can be used for judgment. Touch the radiator surface: after idling when hot, there should be noticeable temperature difference between upper and lower hoses - very hot on top and warm below indicates normal coolant circulation but insufficient fan cooling, possibly clutch not engaged. Feel airflow temperature: working fan should blow hot air; if airflow is not hot, clutch may be slipping. Observe temperature gauge: stable temperature indicates normal clutch operation, significant fluctuations may indicate problems.

Q: What impact does loose connection between the "working chamber" and fan blade of a silicone oil fan clutch have?
A: Loose connection causes the fan blade to wobble during rotation (producing abnormal noise), unstable torque transfer (speed fluctuations), and risk of blade detachment. Re-tighten the connecting bolts to the original torque, check for wear on connecting components (replace damaged parts), and ensure a secure connection. This prevents safety hazards and maintains stable clutch operation.
