Product Overview

The Olympus OTV-S7 autoclavable camera head is the sterile-field end of a VISERA video chain: it mounts on the eyepiece of a rigid or flexible endoscope through a coupler, captures the image and passes it to the OTV-S7 camera control unit. The autoclavable version is fully sterilisable, so the surgeon holds a sterile device rather than a draped one — the practical benefit being a stable grip, no drape slippage and no risk of the drape catching on the light cable during a long case.

Care, Sterilisation and Quality Control

Always leak test the head before autoclaving — steam entering the housing destroys the CCD and is not repairable at reasonable cost. Use only the sterilisation cycle specified by the manufacturer, allow full cool-down before connecting to a warm CCU, and wipe the coupler thread and optics with a lens-safe cloth before every case. Cable strain relief should be checked at the connector; a bent connector pin causes intermittent image loss that is often misdiagnosed as a processor fault. Each head we supply is tested for image output on a matching CCU and inspected for cable and connector condition.
