Overview

Gefran KE1-6-M-B01C-1-4-D-S 2130X000X00, Gefran code F040926, is the 100 bar member of this KE1 NaK-filled 4–20 mA transmitter group. Its lower full-scale range is intended for melt processes where normal operating pressure is substantially below the levels associated with 350, 500 or 700 bar transmitters. Selecting a range closer to the actual process window can improve the useful resolution of the controller input, but only when adequate allowance remains for startup and transient pressure.

Application-Specific Selection

This model should not be chosen solely to obtain greater display resolution. Review recorded startup peaks, screen-pack loading, cold-material conditions and the machine’s shutdown thresholds before specifying a 100 bar span. The transmitter must not be used as a substitute for mechanical overpressure protection. PLC scaling, high-pressure alarms and recorder ranges must all be changed when migrating from a higher-range model.

Mounting and Commissioning

Install only after the line has been cooled and depressurized. Check that the mounting bore, thread and diaphragm seat correspond to the existing installation. Protect the diaphragm from impact and hardened polymer, maintain a gradual bend radius in the flexible capillary and keep the electronics away from direct heater radiation. Confirm the correct mating connector, wiring diagram, loop polarity and 100 bar controller scaling before startup.
