Automatic Iron and Manganese Removal Well Water Filter
Groundwater Treatment Solution
Groundwater in many regions contains elevated levels of iron (5-15mg/L, up to 20-39mg/L) and manganese (0.5-2.0mg/L, sometimes exceeding 2.0mg/L). When iron exceeds standards, it exists as Fe2+, making water appear clear initially but turning turbid over time with a distinct ferruginous odor. This poses significant challenges for industrial applications, including resin contamination in ion exchange systems, reverse osmosis membrane fouling, boiler scaling, and accelerated equipment corrosion through iron bacteria proliferation.
Advanced Filtration Technology
Our iron and manganese removal filter integrates oxidation, ion replacement, retention, and clarification processes. The system employs aeration technology—using jet aeration or hollow multi-faceted ball aeration—to oxidize bivalent iron and manganese into Fe(OH)3 and MnO2 precipitates. Through single or multi-stage filtration, we ensure treated water meets national drinking water standards with iron content ≤0.3mg/L and manganese content ≤0.1mg/L.
Drinking Water Compliance
After treatment, groundwater iron content is reduced to ≤0.3mg/L, fully compliant with the national GB5749-85 drinking water quality standard. This makes our system ideal for towns, industrial enterprises, and mining operations using groundwater sources.
Application Scope
- Groundwater iron content ≤8mg/L removal systems
- Groundwater iron content >8mg/L to ≤16mg/L removal systems
- Small to medium towns, rural water supply systems

Multi-Media Filtration System
This advanced micro-flocculation filtration method utilizes multiple layers of specialized filtration media to remove suspended matter, particles, colloids, algae, and other visible contaminants. The system effectively reduces turbidity and chromaticity while ensuring SDI values ≤4, providing essential protection for downstream RO systems. Features include low operational costs, easy maintenance, and backwash cycles of 16-48 hours controlled by pressure parameters.
Activated Carbon Filtration
Our activated carbon filtration provides comprehensive water treatment with multiple benefits:
- De-coloring: Removes chromaticity from iron, manganese, and organic pollutants
- Dechlorination: Eliminates residual chlorine odors
- Organic removal: Targets pesticides, insecticides, chlorinated hydrocarbons, and reduces BOD/COD
- THMS removal: Effectively eliminates trihalomethanes and other disinfection byproducts
- Ammonia and nitrite removal
- Protection for ultrafiltration and reverse osmosis membranes
Water Softening System
The softener utilizes strong acid-type cationic resin to remove calcium and magnesium ions, reducing water hardness to <0.03meg/L (CaCO3) and preventing scale formation. The corrosion-resistant stainless steel tank (3,000L/hr capacity) features robust control valves, high-efficiency resin, and an advanced salt suction system with automatic filtration and water return functions. Ideal for boiler water treatment, solar heating systems, chemical processes, and various industrial applications.
