Description

This custom CNC machined ratchet pawl is designed for reusable surgical retractor handles and other medical instrument mechanisms that need to hold a selected opening position during use. Its locking teeth engage with a mating rack or ratchet element, while the pivot bore controls the pawl's movement and the spring contact feature supports the specified engagement action.
The stainless steel grade, hardness and surface finish should be chosen according to the instrument design, wear requirements and cleaning or sterilization process. Material selection alone does not establish medical suitability.
Before production, confirm the mating tooth geometry, pivot diameter, spring contact point, engagement clearance and required surface condition. Tooth engagement and release should be verified within the complete mechanism, while material traceability and reprocessing compatibility should follow the device manufacturer's specifications.
