Description

This custom CNC machined locking pin is designed for robotic quick change systems used in automated machine tending, pallet loading and end effector exchange. The locating diameters guide the pin into its mating interface, while the locking groove works with the specified locking mechanism to retain the tool during operation.
Hardened alloy steel can improve wear resistance for repeatedly engaged locating and locking surfaces. The heat treatment condition and final surface treatment must match the design's load, wear and fit requirements.
Before production, confirm the tool changer model, mating bore dimensions, locking mechanism geometry, pin insertion depth, required hardness and lubrication conditions. Critical checks include the locating diameters, locking groove position, concentricity and dimensional changes after heat treatment.
