Brief introduction

Magnetic separator is one of the most widely used and versatile machines in industry, which is suitable for the separation of substances with magnetic differences. Magnetic separators are widely used in mining, timber, kiln, chemistry, food and other industries. As far as mining is concerned, magnetic separators are suitable for wet or dry magnetic separation of manganese ore, magnetite, pyrrhotite, roasted ore, ilmenite, hematite and other materials with particle size below 50mm, and are also used for iron removal of coal, non-metallic minerals, building materials and other materials. Magnetic separators are divided into two categories. The magnetic system of permanent magnetic separators is mostly made of high-quality ferrite materials or compounded with rare earth magnetic steel. Earlier, the average magnetic induction intensity on the surface of magnetic cylinder of magnetic separators was 80-400 mt. With the continuous development of technology, after the magnetic separator can be made into a roll shape, the magnetic field intensity has also increased to 1650mT, which is the highest measured magnetic field intensity at present.


Principle of operation
After the pulp flows into the tank body through the ore feeding box, the ore particles enter the feeding area of the tank body in a loose state under the action of the water flow from the ore feeding spray pipe. Under the action of magnetic field, the magnetic particles are magnetically agglomerated to form "magnetic clusters" or "magnetic chains", which move towards the magnetic poles under the action of magnetic force in the pulp and are adsorbed on the cylinder. Because the polarities of the magnetic poles are alternately arranged along the rotating direction of the cylinder and are fixed when working, when the "magnetic cluster" or "magnetic linkage" rotates with the cylinder, magnetic stirring occurs due to the alternating magnetic poles, and non-magnetic minerals such as gangue mixed in the "magnetic cluster" or "magnetic linkage" fall off during turning, and finally the "magnetic cluster" or "magnetic linkage" is the concentrate. The concentrate moves with the cylinder to the place with the weakest magnetic force at the edge of the magnetic system, and is discharged into the concentrate tank under the action of the washing water jet from the ore discharging pipe. If it is an all-magnetic magnetic roller, the ore is discharged by a brush roller. Non-magnetic or weakly magnetic minerals are left in the pulp and discharged out of the tank with the pulp, which is tailings.
