Basic Properties

LOCTITE 406 is a one-component ethyl cyanoacrylate adhesive appearing as transparent, colorless to straw-colored liquid with viscosity 15-25 cP@25°C (Brookfield LVF). It cures via moisture activation and is specifically engineered for rapid bonding of plastics and rubber materials, specific gravity 1.1@25°C.

Core Characteristics

It achieves fixture in 5 seconds (e.g. ABS/PVC <5s) and develops full strength in 24h. Key advantages include:
- 8.8-13.1 N/mm² shear strength for engineering plastics (PC/ABS)
- 95-120% strength retention after 1000h in gasoline/ethanol
