Zento Optical Access Control Full Height Turnstile ZT-821C
A full-height turnstile is a robust access control system that creates a complete physical barrier from floor to ceiling, making it virtually impossible for unauthorized individuals to climb over, crawl under, or otherwise bypass. Unlike waist-high or optical turnstiles, a full-height turnstile provides a high level of security and is often used in situations where perimeter security is a top priority.
Key Features
• Floor-to-Ceiling Barrier: The defining characteristic is its tall, enclosed structure. The rotating "arms" or "rods" of the turnstile extend from the floor to a height that is well above a person's head (typically 1.8 to 2.2 meters). This design eliminates the possibility of jumping over the barrier.
• Rugged Construction: Full-height turnstiles are typically made from durable materials like stainless steel or galvanized steel, which are designed to withstand heavy use, vandalism, and harsh weather conditions. This makes them suitable for both indoor and outdoor installations.
• Anti-Tailgating: The mechanism is designed to allow only one person to pass at a time. The rotating rods prevent a second person from following closely behind the first, a security breach known as "tailgating."
• Bi-directional Operation: Many models can be configured for bi-directional access, allowing controlled entry and exit through the same unit. • Integration with Access Control: Full-height turnstiles can be seamlessly integrated with a variety of access control systems, including: • Card readers (RFID, proximity cards)
