What is pre painted steel made of?
The pre-painted steel product is composed of a steel substrate - cold rolled or zinc-based metallic coated - with a surface treatment layer, a paint primer coating and a paint finish topcoat.
How are steel coils painted?
Coil coating is also referred to as pre-painted metal, because the metal is painted prior to, rather than after, fabrication. In the coil coating process, the metal coil is first unwound, cleaned and pre-treated, applied on a flat continuous sheet, heat cured, cooled and rewound for shipment.
What is coil coating paint?
Coil coating is a liquid paint system that comprises Topcoat, Back coat and Primers. It is available in a wide range of colours and finishes that can be applied to Steel / aluminium coils with the help of rolls. These can be cured in a minute's time and recoiled for delivery to end users.
What is the advantage of coil coating?
Since coil coating is a closed loop process, all activities using chemicals and paints are carried out under strict process conditions, enabling high level environmental control. The resistance of coatings to corrosion depends on the pre-treatment of the sub- strate and the paint used.
