What is A588 grade steel?
This grade is designed for projects requiring atmospheric corrosion resistance. Its advantage over A572 50 is its weathering ability. When properly exposed to the atmosphere, this steel plate can be utilized in its bare condition (unpainted).

What is the corrosion resistance of A588?
The atmospheric corrosion resistance of A588 is substantially better than that of carbon steels such as A36 and A572-50 with or without copper addition. When properly designed and exposed to the atmosphere, A588 is suitable for many applications in the unpainted condition.
