Anodized Aluminum Plate Description

Anodized aluminum plate undergoes electrolysis in specific electrolytes (such as sulfuric acid, chromic acid, oxalic acid) as the anode, forming a protective oxide layer through external current application.

Anodizing Process Principle

The aluminum plate serves as the anode in an electrolyte solution, forming an aluminum oxide film through electrolysis. The cathode uses chemically stable materials like lead or stainless steel. The process involves hydrolysis where hydrogen releases at the cathode and oxygen (molecular, atomic, and ionic) forms at the anode, creating a durable anhydrous alumina protective layer.
