JIS G3312 PPGI Prepainted Color Steel Coil with 1000mm Width and 10–20μm Top Coating for Roofing and Construction Panels
1. Product Overview
Prepainted color steel coil (PPGI) combines galvanized or galvalume substrate protection with an organic coating system. It is widely used where both corrosion resistance and decorative surface finish are required.
The 1000 mm width specification is commonly used for roll forming lines, enabling efficient production of roofing sheets, wall panels, and light structural components. Compared with bare galvanized steel, the additional paint layer improves surface durability, appearance consistency, and resistance to environmental exposure.
2. Technical Solution
This product is manufactured based on a layered protection system:
Galvanized or galvalume substrate (20–275 g/m² coating range)
Primer coating layer for adhesion and corrosion barrier
Top paint system (10–20 μm) for weather resistance and color stability
Back coating (5–7 μm) for reverse-side protection
The performance depends on the combination of:
Zinc coating level → substrate corrosion resistance
Paint system (PE / SMP / PVDF) → weather resistance and UV durability
Steel grade (CGCC / DX51D) → forming and processing capability
LFQ (Lock Forming Quality) is used when better bending and roll forming performance is required.

8. FAQ
Q1: Is this PPGI or PPGL?
It can be both. When using galvanized substrate (Z coating), it is PPGI; when using galvalume substrate (AZ coating), it is PPGL.
Q2: Why is the top coating 10–20 μm instead of 25 μm?
This version follows your standard product table. 10–20 μm is common for standard polyester systems.
Q3: Can 1000 mm width be customized?
Yes. Standard range is 700–1250 mm, with 1000 mm widely used.
Q4: What affects service life most?
Paint system + zinc coating level + environment exposure.
Q5: Can this be used for roofing sheet production?
Yes. It is widely used for roll forming roofing and wall panels.
