Product Description:

The Toray HFUG-2020AN is an external-pressure ultrafiltration (UF) membrane module made of PVDF (Polyvinylidene Fluoride) membrane and uPVC housing. It emphasizes "high flux, durability, and multi-scenario adaptability," addressing needs like impurity removal, compliance, and stable operation in drinking water treatment, seawater RO pretreatment, industrial process water, advanced wastewater treatment, and electronic semiconductor ultrapure water pretreatment.
As a Toray standardized product, it has been used in over 500 projects globally—from rural drinking water initiatives to large industrial systems.


Operating and Cleaning Limits:

External membrane area delivers 15m³/h (66gpm) max water production—20% higher flux than conventional UF membranes, reducing module count and floor space.16.8m³/h (74gpm) backwash flow flushes impurities effectively, extending service life to 3–5 years (vs. 2–3 years for standard UF) and cutting replacement costs.
Harsh Condition Adaptability
PVDF membrane + uPVC housing + EPDM seals: excellent chemical resistance, stable operation at 1–40℃ (34–104℉) and pH 1–10 (0–12 for cleaning).300kPa (43.5psi) max inlet pressure: suitable for complex water like seawater and industrial wastewater.
Precise Filtration & Compliance
0.01μm pore size removes 99.9% suspended solids, bacteria (E. coli), and Cryptosporidium—meets LT2ESWTR standards.
Flexible Multi-Scenario Use
Applies to: municipal drinking water, seawater RO pretreatment, food/electronics/pharmaceutical process water, wastewater recycling, and electronic semiconductor ultrapure water pretreatment (removes micro-particles to avoid chip production defects).
Standard dimensions (216mm diameter / 2160mm length): fits conventional membrane housings, no custom equipment needed.

Applications

Suitable for desalination and advanced treatment of brackish water, surface water, and tap water with a salinity of approximately 1500 ppm or less, such as small commercial water purifiers, hospital and laboratory water purification equipment, etc.

Conclusion

Notes:
a. The maximum temperature for continuous operation at pH above 10 is 95 °F (35 °C).
b. Under certain conditions, free chlorine and other oxidizing agents may cause premature membrane failure. Since damage from oxidation is not covered under warranty, it is recommended that customers remove residual chlorine through pretreatment prior to membrane contact.
