Compressor Process

1.Piston compressor:As the swash plate fixed on the shaft rotates,

the piston reciprocates. It has a complex structure, is light in weight,

is easy to install in a small engine, and has a short stroke distance.

2.Rotary compressor:The stroke distance is short, the balance is good,

and it generates heat due to moisture. It lacks power at low speeds

and consumes high horsepower at high speeds.

3.scroll compressor:Small in size and light in weight, it can achieve high-speed rotation.

The vortex rotates together with the gap in front of

the vortex disk to generate pressure.

Compressors and Mount & Drive:

Mount & Drive

Consists of a bracket to mount the compressor to the engine, a belt idler pulley, compressor drive belt and possibly and extra drive pulley for the crankshaft.

Compressor Mount

Manufactured of either plate, cast iron, steel or aluminium, this bracket should exhibit

excellent noise absorption qualities especially if using a piston type compressor.

Idler Pulley

A small pulley normally used in conjunction with a belt adjusting mechanism, also used when a belt has a long distance between pulleys to absorb belt vibrations.

Drive Pulley

Some vehicles do not have an extra pulley to accommodate an A/C drive belt, in these

cases an extra pulley is bolted onto the existing crankshaft pulley.

Air Conditioning Compressor

The air conditioning compressor is generally driven by the engine via a V-ribbed belt. It compresses or circulates the refrigerant in the system. There are different types of air conditioning compressors.

It is crucial to match the size of the compressor with the size of the system.

To ensure proper lubrication, the compressor is filled with a specific oil, which also circulates through the air conditioning system along with the refrigerant.

Instructions For The Tnstallation Of AC Compressors

Before installing the new AC compressor, it is important to flush the refrigerant

circuit to remove any contaminants and foreign bodies. Depending on the level of contamination,

it is recommended to use refrigerants R134a or R1234yf, or a special flushing solution.

However, it is not possible to flush air conditioning compressors, filter-driers (accumulators),

and expansion or throttle valves. Since system contamination is always assumed or

cannot be ruled out when the compressor is defective, the system must be flushed when replacing these components.

It is crucial to ensure that there are no residues of the flushing solution remaining in the system.

If necessary, the refrigerant circuit should be dried using nitrogen.
