Product Overview
This customizable One Pass (Single Pass) digital printer utilizes a fixed printhead array spanning the full media width to complete full-color printing in a single pass as the material moves beneath it. Available in high-speed roll-to-roll, carton packaging, and modular integration configurations.
In a Single Pass system, the printhead carriage remains fixed and completes the image printing in a single pass while the print material is conveyed underneath. This is fundamentally different from scan printing, where the printhead carriage reciprocates laterally, making multiple passes to complete the image. Scan printers typically achieve speeds up to 2 m/min, whereas Single Pass printers can reach speeds of over 50 m/min.
The system is fully customizable in print width, printhead count and model, print speed, ink type, and curing method. One Pass technology is increasingly adopted in industrial printing applications where high productivity is required, including packaging, textiles, labels, and commercial printing.
Working principle: The printheads (thermal or piezoelectric) eject ink droplets onto the moving substrate as it passes beneath the fixed print bar. With multiple printhead modules arranged across the entire web width, full coverage is achieved in one pass. A distance measuring sensor can detect the thickness of the printing material, enabling automatic printhead height adjustment for optimal print quality.
