Aluminum cold plate is a liquid cooling plate processed from aluminum alloy as the base material. Due to its material properties, it has become the preferred choice for IGBT heat dissipation. The thermal conductivity of aluminium is approximately 202W/(m·K), which is lower than that of copper (401W/(m·K)). However, its cost is only 1/3 to 1/4 of that of copper, and its density is lower (2.7g/cm³ vs. 8.9g/cm³ of copper). This can effectively reduce the weight of the system and is particularly suitable for scenarios with high requirements for lightweighting, such as new energy vehicles. Aluminum alloy can be fabricated into complex flow channel structures (such as serpentine flow channels, parallel flow channels, and microchannels) through processes like extrusion, milling, and welding, which can precisely match the heat-generating areas of IGBT modules and enhance heat exchange efficiency. Aluminum cold plates can resist the corrosion of coolant while maintaining stable thermal conductivity, avoiding heat dissipation failure caused by corrosion.
