DOC Diesel Oxidation Catalyst EU4/5/6 Ceramic/Metal Honeycomb Substrate

DOC (Diesel Oxidation Catalyst)

Diesel oxidation catalysts promote chemical oxidation of CO and HC as well as the organic fraction (OF) of diesel particulates. They also oxidize sulfur dioxide which is present in diesel exhaust from the combustion of sulfur containing fuels. The oxidation of SO2 leads to the generation of sulfate particulates and may significantly increase total particulate emissions despite the decrease of the organic fraction. In modern diesel aftertreatment systems, an important function of the DOC is to increase the NO2 content of the exhaust gas, to support the performance of SCR catalysts and diesel particulate filters.
