1) Description of Spur Gear
From the perspective of manufacturing process and economy, spur gear is a gear with a simple processing process and low manufacturing cost,
and its tooth shape is regular, which can be mass-produced using a variety of conventional processing methods.
2) Feature of Spur Gear
a) The processing equipment is universal, no special spiral angle processing equipment is required, and ordinary milling machines
and hobbing machines can complete the processing;
b) High material utilization, symmetrical distribution of gear teeth, and small blank processing allowance;
c) The mass production cost is low, suitable for large-scale standardized production, and can effectively reduce the overall manufacturing cost of equipment.
3) Working Principle
During manufacturing, through conventional processes such as hobbing and shaping, the gear teeth parallel to the axis are processed on the cylindrical blank,
and there is no need to adjust complex helix angle parameters during the processing process, which reduces the risk of machining errors.
The cost advantage allows it to achieve basic transmission functions with low investment in scenarios where performance requirements are not extreme.
4) Application of Spur Gear
It is widely used in low-cost mechanical products, such as the transmission system of small blowers, the gearbox of agricultural irrigation pumps,
and the drive mechanism of simple conveying equipment.
