1) Structural Features
a) Unique tooth shape: The tooth shape of a herringbone gear is V-shaped, consisting of two helical gears with opposite spiral directions.
When viewed from the top, each spiral groove resembles the letter ‘V’, and multiple ‘V’ shapes combine to form a herringbone pattern.
b) No axial clearance: Similar to double helical gears, but there is no clearance between the two helical surfaces,
which makes the herringbone gears more compact during transmission and able to withstand higher loads.
