1) Description of Double Helix Gears

A double helical gear consists of two helix angles with opposite hands. Inside the gears, the axial thrusts oppose each other

and the resulting forces are not transmitted to the bearings on the shaft. This gearpair setup means they can handle high loads

and allow for a solid transmission while running.
