Thiourea is an organic sulfur compound with the formula SC(NH2)2 and the structure H2N−C(=S)−NH2. Its structure is similar to urea (H2N−C(=O)−NH2), but oxygen atoms are replaced by sulfur atoms (as the thio prefix implies). The properties of urea and thiourea are very different.
