Rubber to Metal Bonding Primer 815GB Replacement of Chemosil 211
Rubber to Metal Bonding Primer 815GB Alternative of Chemosil 211
Description
Rubber to Metal Bonding Primer 815GB Alternative of Chemosil 211 is designed for use under cover coat adhesives to bond a wide variety of vulcanized and unvulcanized rubber compounds to metals and other rigid substrates. It is composed of a mixture of polymers, organic compounds and mineral fillers dissolved or dispersed in an organic solvent system.
Applicable Range
When paired with a cover coat, this primer adhesive creates a high-strength bond between elastomers and a wide range of substrates. It is compatible with:
- Metals: Carbon steel, stainless steel, aluminum, copper, zinc, titanium, magnesium, lead, and various alloys
- Non-Metals: Nylon, fiberglass, PTFE, rubber, plastics, fabric fibers, glass, and ceramics
Additionally, it serves as an effective one-coat adhesive for bonding specific nitrile rubber compounds to rigid substrates during the vulcanization process.

Application Instructions
Stirring: During storage, some sediment will settle at the bottom of the container. Before painting, it must be thoroughly stirred to achieve uniform mixing. If the painting process is long, stir at high speed for 5-10 minutes every 2 hours.
Diluting: This product can be diluted with diluents according to operational needs. Dilute according to the amount used. Diluted products should not be stored long-term.
Application Methods:
- Brush coating: No dilution required
- Roller coating: No dilution required
- Dip: 100 parts 815GB adhesive + 20-50 parts diluent MIBK
- Spray: 100 parts 815GB adhesive + 30-100 parts diluent MIBK
Coating: Apply by brushing, dipping, roller coating, spraying, or other suitable methods. The applied layer must be uniform to avoid excessive overflow.
Single Coating: Dry film thickness (DFT): 5-15 μm. For harsh environments, 10-15 μm recommended.
Drying: Air-drying at room temperature takes 30-60 minutes. Forced drying may be used to reduce drying time.
Cleaning: Prior to heat vulcanization, wipe off excess treatment agent using a rag dampened with xylene. Once cured, the coating cannot be removed with solvents.
Vulcanization: Optimum bonding is achieved when rubber and adhesive are vulcanized simultaneously. After placing coated substrate into mold, fill with rubber promptly. Actual curing conditions depend on rubber requirements.
Storage & Shelf Life
Shelf life is 12 months from date of shipment when stored at <37℃ in original, unopened container. Do not store or use near heat, sparks or open flame. Store in a dry, room-temperature environment, avoiding prolonged exposure to high humidity and high temperatures.
Safety Precautions
This product is volatile - close container after use. Solvent steam is harmful. Maintain fire prevention in workplace, ensure proper ventilation, and prevent long-term inhalation or skin contact. Please refer to SDS for more safety information.
