This product strictly applies to 40GBASE-ER4 of the IEEE P802.3ba standard. It is a transceiver module designed for 40km optical communication applications.
The module transforms 4 x 10Gb/s input channels to 4 CWDM optical signals, and multiplexes the channels into one channel for 40Gb/s optical transmission. On the receiver side, the process is reversed - 40Gb/s optical transmission input is converted into 4 CWDM optical signals, which are then transformed into 4 channel output electrical data.
According to the wavelength grid defined in ITU-T G694.2, the central wavelengths of the CWDM channels are 1271, 1291, 1311 and 1331nm. The module features a duplex LC connector for the optical interface and a 148-pin connector for the electrical interface. Single-mode fiber (SMF) is required to minimize optical dispersion in long-haul systems.
This product meets QSFP Multi-Source Agreement (MSA) standards and is designed to withstand harsh external operating conditions including extreme temperatures, humidity, and EMI interference.
