About Rubber Air Spring
A rubber air spring is a flexible bellows device made of a composite of rubber and fiber materials. It does not directly provide rigid support or load bearing. Instead, it is filled with compressed gas from an external source (such as an air compressor), leveraging the gas pressure to achieve elastic deformation and energy transfer. Depending on the stroke length requirements of the application, this type of spring can be designed with a single to three-curve structure, and in special cases, with four, five, or even more. Multiple air springs can also be connected in series to meet more complex operating conditions.
This device exhibits typical nonlinear stiffness characteristics, with its elastic modulus adaptively adjusting with external load. This ensures that the system's natural frequency remains essentially stable under varying load conditions, ensuring consistent vibration isolation performance. Furthermore, rubber air springs excel at absorbing high-frequency vibration and isolating noise, and can withstand both axial and radial loads. Adjusting the internal air pressure allows for flexible adjustment of the spring's load capacity, adapting to a wide range of application scenarios.
Within the rated stroke range, adjusting the air pressure allows for precise control of the spring's stiffness, height, internal volume, and load capacity. These parameters respond smoothly and periodically to changes in external load, enabling flexible force transmission, precise stroke adjustment, and effective suppression of amplitude and vibration loads. Combined with an additional air chamber and integrated solenoid valves and automatic air pumps, automatic system control is possible.
Due to these performance advantages, rubber air springs are widely used in a wide range of applications requiring precise stroke control, vibration damping, and isolation, including vehicles, the automotive industry, papermaking machinery, lifting platforms, presses, vibrating conveying equipment, screening systems, pneumatic hammers, vibration test benches, and foundry equipment.
