- Insulators are a special type of insulation control that can play an important role in overhead transmission lines.
- Initially, insulators were mostly used in utility poles. Later, one end of the high-voltage high-voltage wire connection tower was hung with a number of disk-shaped insulators. This is to increase the creepage distance, usually made of glass or ceramic, called insulators.
- Due to the high mechanical strength of the surface layer of the glass insulator, cracks are less likely to occur on the surface. The electrical strength of the glass generally remains constant throughout the run and its aging process is much slower than porcelain.
- The insulator will not fail due to various electromechanical stresses caused by changes in environmental and electrical load conditions, otherwise the insulator will not have a significant effect, which will damage the use and operating life of the entire line.
