Oil & Gas Industry: Seamless stainless steel tubes can be used in oil and gas processing, transmission systems, equipment piping and auxiliary lines where corrosion resistance and pressure performance are required.
Petrochemical & Chemical Plants: Grades such as 316L, 317L, 2205 and 904L are suitable for selected chemical environments where conventional stainless steel may not provide sufficient corrosion resistance.

Industrial Construction: 304 and 304L stainless steel tubes are widely selected for structural and industrial piping applications where durability and resistance to atmospheric corrosion are required.
The manufacturing process generally starts with a stainless steel billet, which is heated and processed through piercing and rolling operations to form a hollow seamless tube.
After sizing and heat treatment, the tube undergoes dimensional inspection and surface treatment. Depending on the selected grade and specification, processes such as annealing, pickling and passivation may be applied.
The chromium content in stainless steel allows a passive oxide layer to form on the surface, helping protect the material from corrosion. For duplex grades such as 2205 and 2507, the combined austenitic-ferritic microstructure provides higher strength together with strong resistance to various corrosive environments.
1. Select the Material Grade: Choose the grade according to temperature, pressure, chloride concentration, chemical exposure and required corrosion resistance.
2. Confirm the Applicable Standard: For heat-exchanger and boiler tubing, standards such as ASTM A213 may be applicable. For general seamless stainless steel pipe, ASTM A312 is commonly specified, while ASTM A789/A790 cover ferritic/austenitic stainless steel products.
3. Determine OD and Wall Thickness: Confirm the required outside diameter and wall thickness based on system pressure, flow requirements, installation conditions and engineering calculations.
4. Choose the Surface Finish: Select BA, 2B, 2D, No.4, HL or polished finishes according to appearance, cleanliness and application requirements.
5. Consider Additional Processing: For fabricated piping systems, specify required cutting, bending, welding, punching or other machining services before production.
