Because of high carbon content, the water quench prone to crack, when so many double liquid quenching, small cross section parts with oil quenching.
This kind of steel in the medium temperature tempering after quenching and normalizing or used in the condition of surface hardening.
Mainly used in the manufacture of springs and wear-resistant parts.
Carbon tool steel is basically not adding alloying elements of high carbon steel, and tool steels in the low cost, good cold and hot workability, the use of a wide range of types of steel.
The carbon content rang in 0.65%-0.35% is dedicated to producing tool steel.
The high density of 7.81 g/cm can be used in the production of fishing gear.
