ASTM A182 is an American Society for Testing and Materials standard specifically for forged or rolled alloy and stainless steel flanges, forged fittings, valves, and components for high-temperature service. F11 is a chromium-molybdenum alloy steel. CL2 stands for Class 2, a key classification for F11 material. This designation indicates that the flange undergoes a normalizing and tempering heat treatment, resulting in higher strength and improved mechanical properties than Class 1 (annealing only).
