Why coffee bags need a valve?

Because when the coffee is freshly roasted, it can be packaged in a bag after cooling down to room temperature. While coffee is in a very fresh state, the beans slowly emit carbon dioxide. And if it is completely sealed, the packaging bag will be inflated by the gas and burst.

Therefore, a valve is needed to discharge the gas inside and block the entry of outside air. When the carbon dioxide gas produced by the coffee beans sealed in the bag makes the bag reach a certain pressure, the gas can push the exhaust valve sheet from the inside to the outside, and discharge the excess gas to the outside;

The valve closes automatically when the pressure in the bag is reduced enough to open the valve plate. And the valve will automatically open only when the pressure inside the bag is higher than the pressure outside the bag, otherwise it will not open, and the outside air cannot enter the bag. Occasionally, the release of a large amount of carbon dioxide can burst the coffee bean packaging, and the one-way exhaust valve can prevent this from happening.

Squeezing a coffee bag to smell is the wrong thing to do

When the carbon dioxide is discharged, the aroma of coffee beans will also be released in large quantities. Therefore, when buying coffee beans, some customers will squeeze the coffee packaging bag to smell the aroma to judge whether it belongs to their favorite coffee. And this action will affect the quality of the coffee.
