Product Description
Stainless steel pipe caps are used to weld on the pipe end or install on the external thread of the pipe end to cover the pipe. Also known as plugs or caps. Uses of stainless steel pipe caps: pipe fittings welded on the pipe end or installed on the external thread of the pipe end to cover the pipe. Used to close the pipeline, the function is the same as the plug.
Pipe caps include convex pipe caps, cone shells, reducers, flat covers and tightening mouth designs. Convex pipe caps include: hemispherical pipe caps, elliptical pipe caps, disc-shaped pipe caps and spherical caps. From the perspective of force, the convex pipe caps are gradually worse from hemispherical pipe caps, but from the perspective of manufacturing difficulty, they are gradually easier to manufacture.

Manufacturing Guidelines
Avoid splicing at the r of the disc-shaped pipe cap, which will reduce thinning and high stress. During splicing, the weld direction is only allowed to be radial and circumferential. This requirement may be cancelled for large Stainless Steel Pipe caps in the future. The splicing distance should be required to be greater than 3δ and not less than 100mm (the heat affected zone of welding is a high stress zone, and the chemical composition in this zone will be burned. Therefore, the high stress zone should be avoided, which is related to the thickness. According to practical experience, the stress attenuation length is greater than 3δ and not less than 100mm). However, it is difficult for refrigeration equipment to meet this requirement, which has its own particularity.
For the head formed after splicing, the splicing weld should be 100% X-ray or ultrasonically inspected, and the qualified level follows the equipment shell. The inspection level and proportion of the weld formed at the last forming are the same as those of the equipment shell.
The correct manufacturing process is: cutting (marking) → small plates are assembled into large plates → forming → nondestructive testing. If testing is done before forming, it is incorrect and cannot guarantee qualification after forming. Nondestructive testing refers to the final nondestructive testing.
