Chemical Composition
UNS S32205 Stainless Steel Plate is mainly composed of iron, chromium, nickel, molybdenum, manganese, nitrogen and other elements. The typical chemical composition content is:
- Chromium (Cr): 21-23%
- Nickel (Ni): 4.5-6.5%
- Molybdenum (Mo): 2.5-3.5%
- Manganese (Mn): maximum 2.0%
- Carbon (C): maximum 0.03%
- Nitrogen (N): 0.08-0.2%
- Silicon (Si): maximum 1.0%
- Phosphorus (P): maximum 0.03%
- Sulfur (S): maximum 0.02%
Product Characteristics
- Good corrosion resistance: Excellent performance in various corrosive environments, especially in chloride-containing environments such as seawater and chemical liquids. Superior resistance to pitting and stress corrosion compared to 304, 316 and 317L stainless steels.
- High strength: Minimum yield strength of 65,000 psi (448 MPa) and tensile strength of 90,000 psi (621 MPa). Suitable for applications requiring higher strength and corrosion resistance.
- Duplex structure: Combines austenite and ferrite structures for excellent corrosion resistance, stress corrosion resistance, weldability and processing properties.
- Good welding performance: Compatible with both manual and automated welding methods using conventional techniques.
Production Process
Includes raw material preparation, smelting, continuous casting, heating treatment, rolling, pickling, cold rolling, annealing, cutting, surface treatment, and inspection and quality control. Specific processes may vary according to production and product requirements.
Application Areas
Widely used in chemical industry, marine engineering, oil and gas extraction, food processing, sewage treatment, papermaking, construction and transportation manufacturing, and medical equipment manufacturing. Applications include pipelines, heat exchanger fittings, pumps, agitators, propellers, shafts, structural components, and medical instruments.
