AISI 410S Annealed Cold Rolled Stainless Steel Coil
Our AISI 410S Annealed Cold Rolled Stainless Steel Coil is a martensitic stainless steel supplied in annealed condition for cutlery, blade, and wear-resistant component manufacturing. The low carbon 410S variant provides improved weldability while retaining the hardenability essential for cutting edge performance.
Key Features
- Martensitic Hardenable Grade: 12% chromium martensitic stainless steel that can be hardened by heat treatment (quench + temper) to achieve hardness values from HRC 35 to HRC 52+, ideal for cutting edges and wear surfaces.
- 410S Low Carbon Advantage: Maximum 0.08% carbon (vs 0.15% for standard 410) limits maximum hardness but significantly improves toughness, ductility, and weldability for complex fabricated components.
- Magnetic Properties: Ferromagnetic in all conditions, enabling magnetic handling and sorting in automated manufacturing and recycling processes.
- Good Machinability: In annealed condition, 410S offers fair to good machinability for blanking, stamping, and pre-heat-treatment shaping operations.
Applications
Primary material for kitchen knife blades, scissors, cutlery, surgical instruments, valve seats and stems, pump shaft sleeves, wear plates, turbine components, and applications requiring moderate corrosion resistance with heat-treatable hardness and magnetic properties.
