409L Stainless Steel Pipe for Exhaust Systems
Stainless steel grade 409L is a general chromium, titanium stabilized, ferritic stainless steel specifically designed for automotive exhaust systems. With 11% chromium content - the minimum required for forming the passive surface film - it provides excellent corrosion resistance while offering medium strength, good formability, and cost-effectiveness.
This grade strongly resists corrosion compared to carbon steel and serves as an ideal alternative in mildly challenging environments where corrosion resistance and high-temperature oxidation properties are essential. It's commonly used in applications where mechanical properties and corrosion resistance take priority over appearance.
